I am so glad I posted this. I just had a new problem where I needed this kind of information. I used the Left Outer Join method and it worked like a charm on tables with pretty serious volumes of data.

I have a 2011 335xi great car I love all aspects that it offers me but… the damn speedometer! 4 miles off! what pain! People are constantly tailgating me if I’m not diligent on speeding 5 miles over the limit. What moron in Germany thought of this!
Because of this I may not lease or buy another one when my lease is up in September!
My wife drives an RX 350 Lexus which is dead on, that’s what a Luxury car should be!

Hi Everyone,

I am novice in terms of SQL knowledge , Can some one please explain how is the query executed:

SELECT DISTINCT store_type FROM stores s1
WHERE NOT EXISTS (
SELECT * FROM cities WHERE NOT EXISTS (
SELECT * FROM cities_stores
WHERE cities_stores.city = cities.city
AND cities_stores.store_type = stores.store_type));

I am very confused on this .

left joins will be faster, plus it has the added benefit of being able to do join/filtering on multiple columns for exclusion. NOT IN() can only return one column as with NOT EXISTS.

I know it sucks but don’t feel too bad, it’s not you they don’t trust, it’s the company that’s issuing the check. However they really should get on the ball with the virtual insta-banking.

And why don’t they just instantly retrieve the money electronically… instantly. When I paid by check to the hospital in October for my son’s surgery, they ran it through there machine and withdrew it from my account on the spot… and handed me back my check. My credit union can’t do the same with someone as large as Merrill Lynch? Come On!!!

Don’t feel bad, Fidelity Investments did me the same way. They said sense the stock market crashed they have to put all these rules out and blah, blah, blah… With all the delay in days it makes you think what’s the check really good for? They should have the check verification clock start once you submitt the request to borrow your own money..

JUST A NOTE..that ring i went in search of was yesterday at a place i havent been in yrs.called clackamas towne centre,yes,they had a shooting there.pondering my expensive purchase in the parking lot.i left for home less than an hr before the shooting.needless to say.i’m keeping the ring.today is a very special birthday indeed:}
