Yes… my next birthday will not only be 9 days before the end of the world, but it is a really cool looking date… 12/12/12.
How many people can say they have a cool birthday like this?
My sister would have come close. Her birthday was 7/7. However she passed away at the end of 2003, 3-1/2 years too soon for 7/7/7. But we all know that is not the same… because you would really write that as 7/7/07. Granted, I would just go with 07/07/07, but that’s me. My sister isn’t around to give her take on it.
The real problem with this super cool day for a birthday is that it lands right in the middle of the week. I want to have a cool birthday party for this birthday, but how many people will show up for a birthday party on a Wednesday???
Do I move it to the Saturday before or after, 12/8/12 or 12/15/12, respectively? Then it is not as cool. If I have a party… just before the end of the world… on a Wednesday… any chance for friends to come in from out of town are nil.
What would you do?
Or… I could just wait until the year after the world ends… I turn 50 in 2013… which is also a good chance for a cool birthday party… and one I would have on a weekend. This way my 6 closest friends that live out of town won’t have an excuse not to come. BTW… 3 of those 6 friends… I was Best Man at their weddings.

Hi my dad’s birthday is on the 12/12/12 and he is turning 57 which when added together equals 12 so we are all insanely excited and having a party for him as well!!! as for your party i would say have it on the 15 because when added together makes 6 which is half of 12 so it still is a version of 12 in a way!!!

I will be celebrating my 40th birthday on 12/12/12. I am so excited! I have friends and family who dreaded turning 40, but I can’t wait! How inspiring it’s been looking at this blog! I’m turning 57 on 12/12/12 and like ‘A Cool Birthday’ blogger – am wracked about whether to invite my friends to celebrate on the Wednesday or save it for the Saturday.
Either way, I’ll be celebrating with my loved ones in New Zealand – it deserves celebrating and it’s fantastic to see how many others are also celebrating on this day.

My granddaughter is turning 12 on 12-12-12. I wish that I could find a Lion Dance Costume , preferably for two people to dance at her party. She is what is known as a “Water Dragon”. All people who turn 12 on 12-12-12 are Water Dragons. I am going to give her a “Dragon Party” at the local Sportmen’s Club. Surprisingly most places are booked for the date 12-12-12. So if anyone is planning anything “big” where a hall may be needed get it early…just a warning.

I will be 50 on 12-12-12. I’ve had a *feeling* that something *big* is going to happen within me. Over a year ago I said I wanted to go on a spiritual retreat for my birthday. As it so happens I recently started Sahaja Yoga Meditation, and I go to a group meditation every Wed. So I am looking forward to our group meditation that evening. Sahaja Yoga Meditation IS amazing!!! It’s taught all over the world, and it’s FREE!!! They have to supply the classes for free, it’s about helping others find their *self realization*. The website is freemeditation.com check it out and see if there is a group close to you. There are 4 classes a week within driving distance to me. It’s about clearing the chakras and rising the kundalini energy within all of us. If you start going, give it a few classes, each class is different and they usually work on spontaneity, just letting things flow. Every time I go I learn something different!! Good luck!!

Hi everyone, I happened to come across this blog while planning a party for 3 boys born in the same hospital and now go to the same school. They turn 12 on 12-12-2012! Considering there are only about 75 or so students in their graduating class I think that is impressive. The most impressive part (by far, at least to me) is that all three boys have agreed to donate all gifts and monetary donations to a children’s hospital. I couldn’t be more proud of my son or the other boys. Both other moms are helping plan, we are looking for any unique facts about 12-12-12 if anyone knows any I’d love to hear them. We are going to post them at the party kind of as “Fun Facts” maybe even play a game with them??

Hi, I was reading each post here and I think I may have a good idea….how about a scavenger hunt?? List 12 things to get and a time frame? Each thing MUST have something to do with the number 12, example- 12 identical items from a special place or 12 things that are dated 12-12-12 (or the year of birth). I am still thinking about this but it will never happen again in any of our lifetimes so its worth a little extra thought! Scavenger hunts can be so much fun for all ages if done right. What do ya think? I haven’t looked up the Chinese Astrological signs yet but I think I will now, thanks for the idea!

I would like to throw this out there… THANKS to all that have commented on this blog post. I appreciate it. I am noticing that we are getting more and more comments as the date approaches.
As for some of the ideals… I like the 12 “theme” for a party. I am going to try this for my own party I expect to have on that Wednesday.
As for the Treasure Hunt, I love this idea, but I lack the creativity to do it. I would run out of ideas after 2. But a treasure hunt with 12 treasures, each one relating to 12 sounds like fun. So… 12 Zodiac symbols makes be want to have one treasure be a Zodiac item. And I am out already.
As for Kimberly… thinking of multiples of 12… get 11 friends (12 with you) together and watch a 12 episode marathon of Friends… which had 6 friends (a multiple of 12). Or just get your 5 best friends and mirror the Friends on TV… and each of you and your friends would have to “be” one of the characters for the evening. Since you posted here… you will have to be Febe.
I am going to have to find some 12 theme items of my own for that day. I am going to have a get together with as many people as I can get to come out on a Wednesday. As stated above… I will be in San Antonio that day… so if anyone is from there please feel free to contact me and join in my party.

At one stage I had considered sky diving for my birthday with my closest friends there to watch. I was going to jump at 12:12pm on the 12/12/12… Going for lunch afterwards and celebrating with 12 friends for tea.
However now we are all flying from Perth to Melbourne over a week with friends coming and going, but all of that can come being there for the 12th.
With help from this site I have asked my facebook friends for ideas for 12 things to do in Melbourne on the day and and 12 things to collect etc. We are making lists at the moment, but will definitely do something at 12:12 pm… like catch the number 12 tram for 12 stops and buy 12 chocolates or cakes or something. And gambling $12 at the casino (to make $1200 my daughter says) Collecting 12 things with the date on it. Everyone buying “something” that cost exactly $12 – to wear that night! And I think there will be 12 of us to go for dinner and party that night!

Instead of gifts and a lavish party, and I LOVE giving parties, I am asking my friends to donate $12.12 to Fern Creek School in Orlando where 20% of their students live in a nearby homeless shelter. The school has a “store” where they give students food to take home on Friday so they won’t be hungry over the weekend. If any of you are interested here is an article from the NY Times. My son is turning 8 on 12-12-12. We LOVE cool numbers in our family. I tried for my daughter on 10-10, but she came 5 days early
. I’m looking for fun ideas to help him celebrate. Thanks for all the ideas thus far. I’m planning to keep him out of school and do 12 special things that day. Maybe 12 gifts starting with 12/1 & 1 gift every day, making the 12-12-12 day a special final gift. We are going to Disneyland to celebrate but not going until 4 days later, but I am still thinking of theming his 12 gifts or scavenger hunt stuff with Disney in mind. I too am turning 51 on 12-12-12, and similar to Scott, missed the 50th by one year the other direction. Still, I think one must celebrate on the 12th or the cool factor is lost. I did not celebrate 50, so celebrating 12-12-12 is a must. But at a lose for ideas.
One thought is to combine some of the ideas above and make it a Holiday/Charitable/End of the World/Birthday Party. Carol

My daughter will also be sweet 16 on 12-12-12 too – it’s’ such a special date, she’s been looking forward to it for years! But now she can’t decide what she wants to do for it. We’re in the north of England so weather’s usually an issue and will rule out outdoor activities

I love all the creative ideas! It’s not my birthday, but I’m a teacher and I enjoy any excuse for a fun party for my students. We will be having a scavenger hunt for 12 items, wear 12 of something, bring 12 snacks to share w/ classmates, and see which families want to donate $12.12 to a local non-profit.

I found a green marble antique jewelry box which I had the broken hinges repaired on and now I am going to fill it with 12 different items. One of which is a Silver charm bracelet with 12 different dragon charms dangling from it to commemorate the occasion. As party favors I have ordered a variety of dragon charms to give away
We will have a cake with a dragon on it. Our local newspaper will print pictures of people having birthdays and we intend on putting in one of her baby pictures.

My birthday is on 12/12/12 so i started planing my day will start by taking a train into manhattan going for breakfast at lenny’s in the village, hopping on a train to bryant park for ice skating on the pond, skate for about 3 hours and then hit the shops around the rink pond, lunch will start and eat at Chipolte’s across the street, after that will go to the nhl store to buy my self a birthday gift, then will make my way to Times Square do a little site seeing and burn some food off, probably will end my day at Stouts Pub for a cuople of cold ones and meet up with co workers, does that sound like a good birthday.

I was all excited about my birthday this year. (I NEVER get excited about my birthday) this year because of it’s numeralogical uniqueness, I thought was really cool I wanted to something special and FUN. Debby, you should celebrate your birthday! You might want to see it as a first birthday again! We can’t control what others do but we can control what we do. As for you not celebrating because of him, means he is controlling your happiness.
December 2012 is going to be a unique month in itself 5 Saturdays, 5 Sundays, & 5 Mondays. So maybe try picking 12 things to do each weekend to celebrate you being you. We don’t always enjoy our birthdays but there will be so much going on for this one it would be silly to skip it for him! Go out with some friends and do something you enjoy. Try something you haven’t done in years and maybe you’ll find that you’ll learn that you can have a good time and celebrate just by making up your mind that it has to be that way. This date will never happen again in our lifetime. Hope you at least consider it and Happy Birthday!

Hi Scott, how great to see so many other people that share my birthday. 12 is my lucky number and i will celebrate 12/12/12 even though it falls on a wednesday. I will be 55, which means i was born in ’57. 5+7=12, not only that i was born at 9:30am. 9+3=12 and to top that,. i was born on the 12 meridian, with is 0 or GMT. and my license plate features 12/12. so im really just one big 12!!! My big plans for celebating my 72nd birthday on 12/12/12 fell apart due to my ex husband’s harassment and abuse through use of courts. I also experienced betrayal by my own lawyer and lost so much money to legal games. This was such a sad situation as the very rich father harassed my/his handicapped son and me so as to not provide any support for the handicapped son and the courts allowed this. So sad to know and accept that one cannot win justice if the opponent is a rich man. AND unethical is not illegal!
So, now I have nothing planned. I have been searching for others with 12/12/12 birthdays, found only one person with whom we will probably have lunch.
I live at Cape Cod, MA. Do you know others with 12/12/12 birthdays close to Cape Cod?
I would like to get together with some others with the same birthday.

Hi all 12-12-12ers! I was just reading through all of the comments on here and there really are some wonderful ideas! I came across this blog in October and wrote about the 3 classmates turning 12 on 12-12-12. Well, everything is in place and the party will benefit Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley. Two local papers are doing stories on this and the funny thing is that it is also one of the reporter’s birthday! Just had to share that. 12-12-12 is a big day in a small world lol

It just occurred to me that my first child, Angelica, was born premature and died on 01 – 01 – 01 that was the first date in this century for all 3 numbers to match. My 38th birthday will be 1 week from today which will be 12 – 12 – 12 that will be the last time this century all 3 numbers can match it will not happen again until the year 2101. That is a strange coincidence.

I’ll turn 70 on 12-12-12. My wonderful husband has organized a luncheon for me and invited close friends, relatives and neighbors. There will be a toast at 12:12pm. I truly appreciate that many folks are taking time off from work to celebrate with us. Happy Birthday to all of you 12-12-12 folks, especially those who will be 12.

Wow! So many wonderful 12/12/12ers! I didn’t think much about my birthday being auspicious until a couple weeks ago, but thought it would be awesome to be at the 12/12/12 concert in NYC. Tried to get tickets, but no luck. So I thought I’d look it up and see how others are celebrating. Here’s my fantasy celebration: the concert organizers reserve a section for those of us celebrating our birthdays! Do you think Sir Paul would sing us the birthday song?? Best wishes for a joyful day to everyone – and thanks, Scott, for starting this conversation. I feel like the party has begun!

Thr journey for my special day begins as my daughters and I head off today on a four hour flight from Perth to Melbourne (Australia) which will culminate with other friends arriving through the week and dinner for 12.

…and one more makes 12/12/12! Yes, I am a 12/12 birthday girl with a twin brother. We’re called the twin-ee-poops by my family and we always have this coincidental 12:12 thing with time — calls, email, looking at the clock, etc.
I’ve been thinking about 12/12/12 for quite some time. My driver’s license expires on 12/12/12, my car registration expires on 12/12/12… not sure if it means anything, but I really feel there’s something about this day that’s special and GOOD. It seems very powerful, extraordinary and I believe it’s going to be a day of wonderful new beginnings! Happy, happy Birthday 12/12′rs!

I googled “ideas for my Grandaughter who is turning 12 on 12-12-12″. Some great ideas here and I am also going to print out Scott’s Blog and responses. I think she will get a kick out of seeing how many other 12-12-12ers responded to Scott’s story. We are surprising her Sunday with a party, she thinks it is going to be on Jan 11th. She is a wonderful little girl, her name is Via. Hope you all have a Happy Birthday surrounded by people who love you.

Hello Fellow 12/12ers! I too will be celebrating tomorrow –my 47th! Planning a pizza and beer happy hour to begin at 5:12 pm. Doing all kinds of cute decorations to incorporate the number 12. Having guests sign in and leave me a message when they arrive. I will keep an eye on the guest book and I have a prize for each entry that is a factor of 12 (ie. 6, 12, 24, etc.). I don’t want or need gifts so I have asked those that come to consider making a donation to a homeless shelter in our town that could certainly use the help this time of year. Being from Wisconsin, I was hoping to get Aaron Rodgers there as 12/12/12 has been declared “Aaron Rodgers” day! He’ll probably be too busy for my little party… Anyway, Happy Birthday to all. I had a party today at 12:12!
We all had a blast…there was at least a dozen people all day!
I turned 44…12 is divisible by 4!!
We celebrated the 12 Days Of Heather prior to my birthday, too!
I received daily presents and I did at least 1 act of kindness every day!! So fun and so fullfilling!!
