First Concert – Def Leppard, Foreigner & Styx

Tonight I am going to my first concert… ever. Yes, at 43 I have never been to a concert. I don’t exactly know why, it has just worked out that way.

Tonight’s concert has Def Leppard as the headline band, with Styx and Foreigner playing as well. This is really cool. I actually own CDs from all three of these bands. I would guess that Styx will open the show. I say this because I have far fewer Styx songs in my music collection (one from one CD) than I do of the other two bands. That puts Foreigner second, and Def Leppard last, of course.

It should be a great concert. Too bad it is on a “school night.” The original plan was to take my oldest and my brother-in-law (I bought 4 tickets for my wife for our anniversary last month). But my brother-in-law is working late, so he will hopefully be the babysitter. I gave the other two tickets to a co-worker.

Fracture

I have wanted to mention more movies, so I will mention this one. I rented Fracture with Anthony Hopkins. He kills his wife and get off on a technicality. Now I did not give anything away there… it was on the Netflix sleeve. So when you watch it you actually see him do it, and see him clean up the scene before the police come. He even confesses to the police. As I am watching this I am thinking how can he possibly get of on a technicality. But he does… and it is cool to watch. End up figuring things out just about as hey are revealed.

Now for the big BUT… it is very slow to watch. Not a lot actually happens and you could put all the important scenes into a 25 minute show. But if you are not paying attention during those critical 25 minutes scattered through out the movie you will not enjoy it.

So… it is slow but good. If you like mind game style thriller you should see it.

Mac OSX Dual Boot on Toshiba Laptop

My Laptop is in limbo. I am trying to install Mac OS X (10.4.8) on my Toshiba laptop. The steps I followed are close to these. I used another site’s instructions, but as my laptop is currently not working I don’t have the correct link.

I was able to install the Mac OS with no trouble at all. It took a while as I read and re-read the instructions, and took my own notes for writing it up myself. After the installation was complete it reboot and I am getting a kernel panic error on the CPU. I think I may have to disable one of the cores in my dual core laptop.

Hopefully I will get it working. If not at least I installed OS X on a separate partition from my Windows XP installation, so hopefully I can recover to Win XP with little trouble. I am also going to try and install OS X in a virtual machine under Windows XP.

I’ll post more when I have something concrete to report.

New Mustang/Camaro Predictions

I am in the process of writing a couple of article on the New Mustang and Camaro. I already posted the article on the “new” Mustang. This first article was actually a recap of previous predictions I made about the Mustang before it came out. For my September Car Corner article I plan to make similar predictions for the all new Camaro coming in 2009. I hope you’ll come back and read that article.
