As far as I know it is going to come out in spring or maybe summer 2008 as a 2009 model. I have not heard any official pricing but you can expect a stripped 6 cyl car to go for very low 20K range to compete with the Mustang. Expect a Z28 (or SS or whatever they are going to call it) to start around $26K, but dealers will likely have pre-optioned cars in the $28-30K range. Of course, you won't be able to negotiate that down for the first model year. So if you are thinking about a V8 you should start saving so you can afford payments on a car in the $28K range or more. You can probably get a nicely equiped V6 version for around $25K. And I expect 240hp (maybe more, but 240 is what I predict) in the V6 version. It should be good for 0-60 in about 7 seconds flat... even with an automatic. Maybe in the 6.7-6.8 second range for manual V-6 car. So if you want to sacrifice some performance for the style and avoid sticker shock you should think V6.

That's my educated opinion.
